Family Health and Wellness Fair

As part of Howard County General Hospital’s 40th anniversary celebration, the hospital will hold a free Family Health and Wellness Fair July 13 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the hospital parking lot at 5755 Cedar Lane in Columbia. The health fair will offer free health screenings and exhibits, health seminars, local entertainment and free food and drinks.

Health screenings at the fair will cover vision, glaucoma, asthma, skin cancer, hypertension, diabetes and joints among other screenings. Likewise, Howard County General Hospital physicians will provide information about topics including obstetrics, gynecology, cardiology, pediatric dentistry, gastroenterology, orthopedics, pain management, psychiatry and urology.

In addition, Johns Hopkins Outpatient Pharmacy and local nonprofit organizations will provide information about accessing community and health resources as well as interactive activities, including Cardiovascular Specialists of Central Maryland’s walk-through heart exhibit.

The Columbia Lions Club will collect old eyeglasses and hearing aids at the health fair for recycling.
