Construction Worker Killed on Job in Fulton

Police said the man was hit by a vehicle while attempting to place cones on Route 216 near Route 29.

A highway worker who was placing cones on Route 29 near Route 216 in Fulton around 9:22 p.m. on Tuesday night was struck and killed by a passing motorist, said police.

The worker, whose name has not been released, was wearing his reflective shirt at the time when he was hit by a 2009 Chevrolet Malibu traveling westbound on Route 216, according to police.

The driver of the Chevrolet stayed at the scene and police are continuing to investigate the cause of the accident.

The victim was an employee of Road Safety Traffic Control Co. LLC, according to police.
