Columbia Association Announces Interim President

The interim president is an executive within the organization.

With the expiration of the current president's contract on Wednesday, the Columbia Association has named an interim president as the organization wraps up its search for a new leader.

Susan Krabbe, the vice president and chief financial officer of the Columbia Association (CA), will be interim president as of May 1 until a new president is selected, which the association anticipated would be in the next week or two.

"The CA Board appreciates Ms. Krabbe assuming this additional responsibility and is confident of her leadership during this period," Andrew Stack, chair of CA's board of directors, said in a prepared statement. "The CA Board continues to work diligently to select a new president and hopes to make an announcement in early May."

Nelson's contract was reportedly not renewed as the association wants a president with more visibility in the community.

The board is considering two candidates for the position who are "local and familiar with CA and Columbia," according to the Howard County Times.

Nelson's salary was about $262,000 in 2011, according to data released by Columbia Association.
