ReplyUse common sense. Lock your cars and home. Do not leave items in place sight in car or home ( garage door open). Leave a light or two on when you go out, it cost much less than being burgled or robbed or worse. Appreciate the value of a caring neighbor, no not nosy Nancy, the other neighbors. The other suggestion listed in this article by the police department are all worthy. By taking some additional precautions you may not have to be spending your time contemplating shooting someone!

ReplyThis follow up story would have been more complete if the many "concerns" the public expressed regarding the ridiculously low bail, were addressed. The questions still remain, who was responsible for the low bail? Was this individual(s) held accountable? Why do these concerns continue to be ignored? How much did it cost to extradite these criminals back to Howard County? What corrective action has been put in place to prevent this from happening again? Is/are the person(s) responsible for this extremely serious mistake, related to the County Executive?

ReplyA county who's availability & access to public transportation is shameful is not a good role model for any county/city anywhere. The only exception to this, is the fantastic, well organized extremely efficient NeighborRide program available for Seniors . For those unfamiliar, this is a volunteer program.

I do agree with you Lisa, but I would think our county executive would at least be concerned and look into who set the bail, and what is being done to correct it.

ReplyWell, I am very pleased that they are in custody again. I wonder how many folks they robbed or perhaps even hurt during their escape.
Someone definitely is protecting someone. NO ONE, NO ONE has responded to our repeated requests to understand how this folks could have been left out on such a ridiculously low bail!
I find it quite amazing that no one has gotten back to us. Ken Ulman gave no response either.
How much more money is also being spent to get these criminal back from Florida! What a royal mess HOCO. We all make mistakes, but one should own up to them and explain what happened and what was being done to correct it. It is called corrective action. I am very disappointed in our government that allowed this to happen and are unwilling to find those accountable accountable! -

ReplyBetter public transportation and access to transport as well as safer bus stops!!! This has been an issue since I moved here 13 years ago. Rather pathetic given we are one of the wealthiest counties in America.
