Experience: I was an assistant editor for The Retriever Weekly - UMBC's student newspaper, and I work for my father, who owns and operates BASES (sandlotbwi.com), a baseball/softball training facility in Glen Burnie,MD.

Why Sports Journalism? When I was trying to figure out what to major in at UMBC, my mother had a suggestion: "You like sports...you like writing...so write about sports!"  Wow, why hadn't I thought about that before?  I declared my major - English (Communication and Technology) - and the rest is history.
