Donnell Vannison, 40, of Baltimore was charged with assault and disorderly conduct.
Howard County police Tuesday charged a 40-year-old west Baltimore man in a fight at Long Reach High School that was caught on video and went viral on the internet. Donnell Maurice Vannison was charged with second-degree assault and disorderly conduct, according to a written statement from the Howard County Police Department (HCPD). Vannison may also be charged with trespassing on school property, said police spokeswoman Sherry Llewellyn. Police said that Vannison, wearing a ski mask, struck a 16-year-old male student outside the school at 2:20 p.m. on Wednesday, March 21. Looks like Batman was caught breaking a traffic law near White Oak in Montgomery County Wednesday. He's no stranger to Howard County either, but his cause is apparently just. Montgomery County Police pulled over a man dressed as the caped superhero as he was driving southbound on Route 29 near Prelude Drive. The reason: his Batmobile didn't have any tags. According to WTOP, the man was driving to the hospital to visit sick children, when he was stopped by officers because his black Lamborghini was identified with the Batman symbol rather than the required state tags. A total of 40 dead animals were found in a Columbia home last week. No one has been charged.
Howard County police are delving deeper into why 40 animals were found dead with no food or water in a Columbia townhome last week, and are ordering lab tests to determine how and when the animals died. No charges have been filed as of Monday, and police are investigating whether the woman who once occupied the home where the dead animals were found was part of an animal rescue group, according to Howard County Police spokeswoman Elizabeth Schroen. They have requested to interview the woman, whose name police have not released, as she has not been charged. She has not yet come in for questioning, Schroen said Monday. Police make arrest after receiving citizen complaint.
A man exposed himself in the parking lot of a Columbia Chick-fil-A the day after Christmas, according to police. The indecent exposure at the Executive Park Drive Chick-fil-A was reported at 8:23 p.m. on Dec. 26. "A citizen complained that this person was flashing people in the parking lot," said Elizabeth Schroen, spokeswoman for Howard County Police Department, in a phone interview. "People who saw it occur called police and provided a description of the vehicle." The alleged flasher drove away and was stopped by police at 8:51 p.m. on MD Route 100 at US 29. Police charged a Windsor Mill man with indecent exposure, DUI and DWI on Dec. 27; he has court dates set for March 2012.
