Meet Murray, a young and playful collie mix who is ready to be part of your pack.
Hey guys, it’s Murray checking in! As you can see from my pictures, I’m a handsome young boy. Mutts Matter thinks I'm a smooth-coated collie mix because I have the sweet, social temperament and long, delicate snout of a collie, but my coat is short and easy to maintain. While I’m still just a puppy at only ten months old, I’m almost fully-grown and weigh 60 pounds now. I have some puppy energy in me and need my daily exercise and play time. Mostly, I’m just a loving and affectionate boy who’s good with kids and other dogs, and really love to be around my people. My foster mom, Leslie, says I’m a 60-pound lap dog. Hey, guys! My name is Monty, and I’m checking in to see if my family-to-be is out there looking for me. I’ve been waiting patiently for them, and my Christmas wish is to find my new home and settle in with a family who loves me and wants my company. I’m a sweet, curious, and playful pit-lab mix, a little over a year old now, and I weigh about 60 pounds. Obviously I’m a handsome guy, but my thin physique is still playing catch up with my big, blocky head. Do you love dogs and want to make a difference? Consider becoming a foster family for a rescue dog during the holidays.
I’ve written a few articles about fostering dogs over the past two years, and multiple readers from the Patch community have stepped up to become foster families. It’s great to see more and more people becoming aware of dog rescue, getting involved, and understanding the importance and vital need of fostering. Fostering is the backbone of rescue, and we can only save as many dogs as we have foster families available to welcome them into their homes. It was only a few years ago that I learned about fostering and how it works. Fostering involves opening your heart and home to a pup in need, and giving them a safe place to land and some TLC until they’ve found their new home. Hey Guys! What’s up? My name is Benji and I’m a super cute, playful, and affectionate havanese-poodle mix. In the spirit of election season, we are asking you to rally your support around Gus, a sweet basset hound/corgi mix who has experienced some trauma in his short life, and is learning to trust people again. Gus has a heart of gold, the most soulful brown eyes, and a gentle spirit that deserves to be loved and nurtured. He is still a young pup at only a year old, and while shy around new people, he is a very loving and affectionate boy once he gets to know you. Meet Bart and Eddie, two adorable, sweet Poodle-mix pups who are a little over a year old and weigh about 15 pounds. Bart and Eddie are brothers and best buds who complement each other and have been a source of security in each other’s lives. Bart is more energetic and inquisitive, and always wants to be by your side. Eddie is more reserved and calm, but has a sense of independence about him. Meet Brad, a Boxer pup with a sad beginning, but big hopes for a bright future.
In rescue, we see a lot of dogs who come from neglectful situations or have had a tough start in life. They all have unique personalities and some dogs need a little more TLC and rehabilitation than others to make the transition to a new home. But even pups from the most troubling situations, once they’re given love, stability, and security, can leave the past behind and live in the now. We continue to be amazed at how resilient and hopeful dogs are, and that is certainly one of the many things that we can learn from them.
