Attorney for Wilde Lake Teen Responds to Rape Allegations

Attorney says evidence will show teen's innocence.

The attorney representing DeShawn Jones, the 17-year-old accused of raping a 14-year-old girl inside Wilde Lake High School earlier this month, said on Monday there is evidence that may prove his client's innocence. "Mr. Jones denies the allegations brought against him," said attorney Adam Frank in a statement released Monday. "He and his family would ask that you please refrain from any judgment until all of the facts are brought out during trial. The public must remember that there are two sides to every story and there will be evidence that will shed light on Mr. Jones's innocence." Jones, of Columbia, was arrested on Feb. 5 after a parent of the female student called police and reported the alleged rape. Jones is charged as an adult …

I can't believe you people! Of course this girl was stupid for meeting with this guy alone! SHE IS 14 YEARS OLD! that's why you can't make legally binding decisions at that age....because we are still naive! Principal Evaluating Safety Procedures at Wilde Lake High

James LeMon said the school is continuing to improve safety procedures at the school after an alleged rape occurred inside the school on Monday.

The principal of Wilde Lake High School wrote in his second letter to parents in as many days that the school is evaluating safety procedures in the wake of an alleged rape reported at the school on Monday. "We will maintain a safe and orderly environment for all students at Wilde Lake High School with our continued vigilance and alertness," wrote Principal James LeMon. He said the school will monitor the 31 cameras placed around the school as well as continue to enforce the following regulations: In his letter he also thanked the school's community for their support after the incident. The real problem is that when there are after School activities it's free for all any and everybody can enter the school without being asked for I.d. where are the admin staff? Where are the teachers?
