Sun and Rain this Weekend in Columbia

Here's the weekend's forecast courtesy of the National Weather Service.

It could go either way this weekend: soggy or sunny. Or maybe we’ll have a bit of both types of weather. According to the National Weather Service, today will be sunny and warm, with temperatures in the high-70s, dropping to the high-50s at night. Saturday there is a slight chance of rain. Otherwise expect cloudy skies with highs in the low-70s. There’s still a small chance of rain Saturday night, when temperatures drop to the high-50s.  Showers are likely Sunday, after 2 p.m. Otherwise, skies will be cloudy and temperatures will rise to the low-70s.  Showers are expected to continue into the night, mostly before 8 p.m. and temperatures will drop to the low-60s. This weekend is all about spring showers and intermittent sunshine, according to the National Weather Service. There’s a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 2 p.m. Friday, otherwise expect partly sunny skies and temperatures in the mid-80s. Temperatures will drop to the low-60s at night when there’s a 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms.  Thunderstorms are likely Saturday afternoon, between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. Skies will be mostly cloudy and temperatures will reach the high 70s during the day. Potentially Perfect Weather in Columbia this Weekend

This is the weekend we’ve been waiting for. According to the National Weather Service, we won’t see a drop of rain this weekend and temperatures will hover near 70. Friday's temperatures will hit the high-60s. Expect some clouds tonight with temperatures dropping to the mid-40s. Saturday, skies will be mostly sunny and temperature will reach the high-60s, dropping to the high-40s at night. Sunday, skies will be sunny and temperatures will hit 70 degrees during the day, dropping to the mid-40s at night. We’ll even have a nice start to next week, with sunny skies Monday and temperatures in the high-60s.

Sunny Spring Weekend in Columbia

Here's the weekend forecast, courtesy of the National Weather Service.

Hello sunshine.  This weekend we should get a taste of spring’s better side – no rain or thunderstorms (probably), just mild temperatures, light winds and mostly clear skies, according to the National Weather Service (NWS).  Friday will be sunny with temperatures reaching the mid-60s during the day and dropping to the mid-40s at night.  More sun Saturday as temperatures approach 70 degrees during the day with “light and variable” winds. Temperatures drop to the high-50s at night and skies should remain clear.  Temperatures will again approach 70 degrees on Sunday, but expect some clouds during the day. Thunderstorms Usher in Cooler Temps in Columbia This Weekend

  Saturday Friday night's storms will bring cooler weather to the area. Saturday's high is predicted to be 61 degrees with a low of 35 at night. Expect mostly sunny skies Saturday. Sunday Cool weather continues into Sunday with a high expected around 57 and low of 41, with a light breeze and sun throughout the day. Outlook: Expect a cool, but comfortable spring weekend after thunderstorms hit on Friday.

Spring Temperatures Coming to Columbia After Historically Cold March

March was the coldest month on record since 2005 in the Baltimore area, according to the National Weather Service.

Skies are sunny, temperatures are in the 60s ... it must be spring.  According to the National Weather Service, temperatures this weekend will reach the 60s during the day, while dropping to around 40 degrees at night. And on Monday we may see our first 70-degree day this spring. That's a significant departure from what we experienced in March, which was the coolest March since 2005, according to NWS. The monthly average temperature was 40.7 degrees last month and it was the first March since 2001 when the temperature never reached 65 degrees or higher, reported NWS. It was the sixth coldest March recorded since official observations began at BWI Airport in 1950, according to NWS. Last month even broke the daily maximum snowfall record for…

Spring Comes to Columbia: Weekend Weather

Fleeting rain showers, temperatures in the mid-to-high 50s … that sounds like spring. And according to the National Weather Service, that’s what we’ll see this weekend.  Get out Saturday – temperatures will be in the mid-50s with clear, sunny skies. Saturday night, temperatures drop to the low 40s. There’s a 60 percent chance we’ll see showers Sunday, after 3 p.m. Otherwise expect mostly cloudy skies with temperatures in the high-50s. The threat of rain continues until about 9 p.m. Sunday night, when temperatures drop to the mid-40s.  On Monday, expect sunny skies and a high temperature of about 60 degrees.

Spring 2013 begins next week, on March 20, but temperatures Friday will have that not-quite-winter, not-quite-spring feel, according to the National Weather Service.  Friday, expect cloudy skies and temperatures reaching about 55 degrees. There’s a 40 percent chance of rain late Friday night, with temperatures in the high-30s. Sunny Skies for Daylight Saving Time 2013

The threat of the 'Snowquester' is gone and with that – welcome temperatures in the 50s and, after today, sun sun sun, according to the National Weather Service.  We will see clouds today, though. Temperatures will reach the high-40s and winds will gust as fast as 37 mph. Temperatures will drop to the low-30s at night. Saturday will be sunny with temperatures in the mid-50s and no more gusty winds. Saturday night, temperatures will drop to the low-30s.  Set your clocks ahead one hour Sunday as we enter Daylight Saving Time. Appropriately enough, skies should be sunny and temperatures will reach the mid-50s, dropping to about 40 degrees at night. Monday’s temperatures look even warmer, with a forecasted high of 57 degrees.
