Flood Watch in Effect for Tuesday Afternoon

Columbia will be mild and soggy this week, according to the National Weather Service.

A flood watch is in effect for Howard County starting Tuesday afternoon and extending into the evening, according to the National Weather Service. There’s a chance of rain and sleet Tuesday morning, then rain as temperatures rise to the mid-40s. Between one and two inches are expected to fall in the afternoon, when temperatures drop to the high-40s. Winds may pick up too, gusting as fast as 21 mph. More rain Wednesday, mostly before 1 p.m. Skies will stay cloudy and temperatures will reach the mid-50s during the day, dropping to the mid-30s at night. There’s a chance of showers again Thursday, with temperatures in the mid-40s. Thursday night will be partly cloudy with a low in the low-30s.  Friday is looking like Monday, with partly sunny …
