Speak Out: What Establishments Would You Recommend for New Mall Addition?
At a meeting on Tuesday a representative of the mall developers said they would aggressively pursue retailers the community was interested in, if they could afford the market rates.
The plan to demolish the L.L. Bean store at the Mall in Columbia and replace it with a new 75,000 square feet addition is now in full swing. Officials from General Growth Properties outlined plans on Tuesday night that showed what the new addition would like—it would consist of three buildings with a large courtyard in the middle. To fill the new space, GGP is currently negotiating with several retailers who GGP senior development director Jim Whitcome said, "had tremendous interest" in the new development.
