Alleged Police Impersonator Caught Hiding in Bushes

Police say the man accused in a "road rage" incident impersonated an officer and ripped the panel off a car.

  A man involved in an incident described as “road rage” by the Howard County Police posed as a police officer, snatched a phone from the victim’s hand and then ripped a panel off of the victim’s car, according to charging documents. Police ultimately found Brian Paul Moore, 35, of Gaithersburg, hiding in the bushes in Clarksville, according to the documents. He faces charges for impersonating a police officer, assault, robbery and theft.  According to the documents, Moore was driving behind the victim on July 25 when he crossed the double line to pass him, striking the victim’s car twice.  The victim stopped his car at Brighton Dam Road and Highland Road and got out of his car. Man Throws Another Motorist's Cellphone: Columbia Crime Roundup

The following arrest information was supplied by the Howard County police department. It does not indicate a conviction. Crimes reported between July 24 and July 27, 2012.

  Road Rage A 35-year-old man from Gaithersburg was arrested Wednesday in a road rage incident. The man allegedly exited his car on Ten Oaks Road in Clarksville, walked up to a driver of another vehicle, grabbed the driver's cell phone and threw it. The suspect was arrested at approximately 9:35 p.m. near Brighton Dam and Springdale Drive. Residential Breaking and Entering Savings bonds, cash, a camera, gift cards and a checkbook were reportedly stolen from an unlocked vehicle inside an open garage near the 12400 block of Kondrup Circle between 9:45 p.m. on July 23 and 1:30 p.m. on July 24. Indecent Exposure A lone man was reportedly committing a sexual act behind a black SUV near the 6100 block of Columbia Crossing Circle around 4:45 p.m…

Jessica, read Brandie's link to the original and my own comments. The paragraph the police gave in the above report misconstrues everything.
