Weapons Taken from Columbia Residence: Howard County Crime Reports

All information was provided by the Howard County Police Department.

Columbia Weapons taken Two handguns, a rifle, jewelry, shoes, televisions and computers were stolen from a residence in the 5300 block of Brook Way during the day on April 23. Someone entered the home by forcing the front door open. Indecent exposure A witness saw a mother and child approaching a business when an elderly male, sitting at a picnic table exposed himself in the 9600 block of Gerwig Lane on April 24 around 11:53 a.m. Commercial burglary Someone entered the office of General Dentistry located in the 10700 block of Charter Drive through an unlocked front door and, once inside, took cash, a check and a credit card receipt between 1 p.m. and 5 p.m. on April 24. Burglar Flees After Homeowner Returns: Howard County Crime Reports

Columbia Residential Burglary A man returned to his home in the 10300 block of Painted Cup to find another man coming down his stairs with his wife’s jewelry box at 7 p.m. on Feb. 26. Upon seeing the homeowner, the man fled out a rear sliding door. Police reported a rear kitchen window was pried open to gain entry. Someone used an unknown tool to punch a hole in the glass on a rear French door at a residence in the 10100 block of Hyla Brook Road between 2:30 and 8 p.m. on Feb. 27. A safe containing cash, passports and other personal papers was stolen. A television, laptop, electronic gaming system and a duffle bag were stolen from a residence in the 10100 block of Hyla Brook Road on Feb. 27 around 11 a.m. A rear door was forced open to …

Indecent Exposure Outside Movie Theater: Crime Reports

Columbia Street robbery According to police, a man was walking along Twin Rivers Road on Feb. 8 at about 8:35 p.m. when he noticed a minivan stop next to him. Two men got out of the van and demanded the man’s jacket and hooded sweatshirt, police said. One of the men, according to police, put a knife to the victim’s back while the other went through his pockets and stole money. The two then got back in the van and drove off, according to police. The three men are described as: Indecent exposure Police say two girls were near the movie theater on the 10300 block of Little Patuxent Parkway on Feb. 10 at about 3:35 p.m. when they saw a man in a nearby car. Armed Robbery on Windstream Drive: Howard County Crime Reports

The following information was supplied by the Howard County Police Department. Arrests do not indicate convictions.

  Columbia Armed Robbery - Windstream Drive A woman was robbed by a man who approached her parked vehicle and displayed a gun near the 10000 bock of Windstream Drive on Jan. 31 around 9 p.m. The woman gave the man money, he demanded more, and when she told him she had no more, he fled. Police described the suspect as a thin black male, abut 5-foot-6 inches, wearing a gray or white hooded sweatshirt and carrying a small pistol. Commercial Burglary Attempt - Eden Brook Apartments A witness saw a person wearing dark clothing exit the fitness center at Dominion/ Eden Brook Apartments near the 7300 block of Eden Brook Drive, but nothing appeared to be missing when police responded around 9 p.m. on Jan. 30. Armed Robbery on Thunderhill Road: Howard County Crime Reports

  Columbia Armed Robbery - Thunderhill Road A man's iPhone was stolen after a buyer the man had arranged a meeting with through Facebook to sell the phone displayed a handgun and walked off with phone around 8 p.m. on Dec. 31 near the 5800 block of Thunderhill Road. Armed Robbery - Harpers Farm Road/ Turnabout Lane Three men approached a man near the intersection of Harpers Farm Road and Turnabout Lane. Two of them displayed knives while a third stole the man's wallet and keys around 10:50 p.m on Dec. 27. Police provided the following descriptions of the suspects: Possible Attempted Breaking and Entering - Cross Fox Lane Two men, both wearing blue jackets, were heard by a resident banging on his door and possibly using a tool to gain …
