North Laurel Robbery A woman was approached by two men. One displayed a gun and demanded the woman's vehicle. The woman told the men the vehicle was equipped with a Lo-Jack tracking device and then the men demanded her wallet and cell phone, which she gave them. The incident happened near the intersection of Murray Hill Road and Rainflower Way on May 14 at about midnight. Police described the suspects as follows: Elkridge Robbery A man coming from a check cashing business was being driven by an acquaintance when he was dropped off at his home. Shortly after, another vehicle pulled up and a passenger exited. The passenger and driver of the car assaulted the man and took his wallet, cell phone and keys, then drove off. Columbia Residential Burglary Police charged a 24-year-old Laurel woman with burglary and trespassing after a resident of the 10600 block of Green Mountain Circle called to report a burglary in process. The Laurel woman was in the basement sitting on a pool table. Someone broke a living room window at a home on the 5700 block of Thunder Hill Road on the evening of May 10, according to police. Nothing was reported stolen. Police don’t now how a burglar gained entry to a home on the 5600 block of Columbia Road on May 5, but electronic items and watches were reported stolen. Columbia Burglary/Attempted burglary Someone broke into an unlocked vehicle on the 11000 block of Thistle Brook Court sometime late the night of April 25 or early the next morning, according to police. The burglar got to the vehicle through an open garage door; cash, credit cards, computer equipment and a GPS unit were reported stolen from the vehicle. Police say someone entered an open garage on the 8600 block of Hayshed Lane on April 26 between 5:30 and 6:30 p.m. and stole a bike. On April 26 between 10 and 10:30 p.m. someone tampered with a basement window at a home on the 10600 block of Green Mountain Circle. Columbia Armed Robbery – Sonesta Suites A man entered the Sonseta Suites in the 8800 block of Columbia Parkway and pointed a gun at an employee while demanding money around 5 a.m. on April 4. The employee complied, and then the man demanded a safe be opened. At that point, a second employee walked in, unaware of the robbery in progress. The armed man took property from one of the employees and then fled the scene. Residential Burglary Someone broke into a residence in the 10300 block of Swiftstream Place through an open rear slider and stole two videogames and three pieces of luggage in the evening on April 4. Columbia Commercial Burglary Video surveillance at the Mall in Columbia of March 23 showed two people arrive at about 12:50 a.m. and enter an unlocked door. They cut the lock to an inside door and entered a room under construction. About $3,500 in copper wire was reported stolen. Robbery Police say the victim was visiting a friend on the 4900 block of Columbia Road on March 21 at about 12:50 p.m. when two more people arrived. All four were sitting on the couch talking when on of the two visitors grabbed the victim’s purse and ran outside with the other visitor, according to police. Columbia Residential burglary Someone forced open the front door to a home on the 5600 block of Stevens Forest Road at about 9 a.m. on March 16 according to police. The burglar ransacked the home and reportedly stole televisions, computers, digital cameras, electronic gaming equipment, jewelry, a baseball card collection and cash. Clarksville Residential burglary The son of a homeowner on the 6000 block of Trotter Road woke his dad at 8 a.m. on March 16 to tell him that someone was in the house, according to police. Columbia Residential Burglary Someone smashed the front window of a home in the 5300 block of Light House Court and stole a laptop and jewelry sometime overnight on March 7. Two laptop computers, a bike, two cameras and an electronic gaming system were stolen from a residence in the 9300 block of Rustling Leaf overnight on March 8 after someone entered through a ground-level basement window . A resident in the 10300 block of Green Mountain Circle returned home on March 3 and found a laptop missing from his home and a window ajar. Someone cut the lock and then ransacked a storage shed located in the 7100 block of Winter Rose Path during the day on March 9. Nothing was reported stolen. Columbia Indecent exposure Police say that on Nov. 26 at about 6:15 p.m., a man in a white van exposed himself to a woman in the parking lot of Target on the 6011 block of Dobbin Road. The woman told police that when she got into her vehicle to leave, the man got out of his van and flashed her. When she left the lot, she said, he got back in his van. The suspect is described as: White man, large build with dark brown hair. He was wearing baggy pants and a sweat shirt and got out of an older model white van with thick rubber around its windows. Columbia School burglary Someone entered the construction area of Atholton High School between Nov. 15 and Nov. 16 according to police. The burglars got in through a temporary fence and stole copper wiring and piping from an addition to the school, damaging the building, according to police. Electric tools were also reported stolen from unlocked toolboxes. Columbia Police arrest suspected catburglar Police responded to a residence near the 9400 block of Clocktower Lane after a resident reported a breaking and entering in progress. The resident reported that she could hear her dog growling and noise coming from downstairs around 3 a.m. on Nov. 7. Police found that the suspect entered through an unlocked front door and later exited through a side sliding door. I got off the bus coming from work oneday and was not thinking of anything but getting off of the bus and get in the house because I was tired.
