Two helicopters are arriving Monday, with four more to be delivered this week.
Maryland State Police are set to accept delivery of six new helicopters at Martin State Airport this week, beginning Monday afternoon. The AW139 helicopters are among 10 AgustaWestland helicopters MSP will get to replace its aging fleet of 11. All but one of its current fleet is at least 20 years old. The rest will be delivered Tuesday and Wednesday, according to state police. AgustaWestland has a $121.7 million contract with the state to deliver the 10 helicopters, which are described as state-of-the art. Training will begin immediately, though the helicopters will not be in use for medevac flights or other missions until late spring or early summer. Peruvian chicken restaurant will have same menu as before, says manager.
The Peurivan chicken restaurant at Hickory Ridge Village Center is set to reopen on Thursday. And it will continue to offer its specialites like whole Peruvian chicken, fried yuca, plantains and papa ala huancaina (Peruvian fried rice). "Things will be pretty much the same," said co-manager James Sena, who was preparing the restaurant for its opening on Wednesday afternoon. The restaurant closed at the beginning of 2012 after the partnership between the two owners broke down, according to Sena. Sena said he couldn't discuss the disagreement because the owners were not legally able to do so. The former president of Dell Services will take over the Columbia-based tech company.
MICROS Systems has hired the former president of Dell Services to be its Chief Executive Officer. Peter Altabef, a former CEO of Perot Systems and president at Dell, will replace long-time Micros CEO A.L. "Tom" Giannopoulos, according to a Micros statement. Giannopoulos served as MICROS CEO since 1993 and will continue his duties until he retires in June of 2014, according to the statement. "It has been a great pleasure and privilege to lead MICROS as Chief Executive Officer over the past twenty years," stated Giannopoulos. New transportation laws will take effect Oct. 1.
