A former Michigan resident received a nine-month jail sentence for his role in an Elkridge hotel room’s methamphetamine lab operation stemming from last June. This past December, Josiah David Martin, 23, originally from Mesick, Mich., pleaded guilty to manufacturing a controlled dangerous substance and to reckless endangerment after Howard County police discovered a meth lab at a Holiday Inn Express in Elkridge. At a hearing this past Friday, Martin apologized for his role, stating, “I know what I did was wrong," according to T. Wayne Kirwan, a spokesman for the Howard County State's Attorney's Office. The two men pleaded guilty to being involved with a methamphetamine lab inside an Elkridge hotel room.
Two Oklahoma men pleaded guilty this week to charges stemming from their role in a methamphetamine lab set up inside a Holiday Inn Express in Elkridge last June. Joshua Wade Matthews, 34, of Sallisaw, OK and Forrest Derrick Rhoades, 35, also from Sallisaw, pleaded guilty to manufacturing a controlled dangerous substance and to reckless endangerment. Rhoades was sentenced to nine months in jail by Judge Timothy J. McCrone, according to Wayne Kirwan, spokesperson for the Howard County state's attorney's office. Matthews, who prosecutors described as forthcoming with authorities, is scheduled to be sentenced on March 27, 2013, according to Kirwan. Two other out-of-state men have also pleaded guilty to drug charges related to the meth lab. …

Five men from out-of-state have been charged after police found a methamphetamine lab in the room where they had been staying at the Holiday Inn Express in Elkridge, reported the Howard County Police Department (HCPD). At 10:40 p.m. on Monday, June 4, police knocked on the door to the men's hotel room after an anonymous caller reported suspicious activity. "The officers observed chemicals inside the room and placed the men into custody," said Sherry Llewellyn, spokeswoman for HCPD. "A fourth man arrived and was also arrested.
