UPDATE: River Hill Student Injured While Walking to School
Police said the 17-year-old student was struck by a vehicle while walking in a crosswalk.
This story was updated at 3:20 p.m. Tuesday A 17-year-old River Hill High School student is now in stable condition after being struck by a car while walking to school on Linden Linthicum Lane Tuesday morning, said police. The student, Matthew R. Curley, 17, of the 5800 block of Clipper Lane, Clarksville, was initially transported to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center in serious condition Tuesday morning, police said. His status was upgraded to stable later Tuesday morning, police said. Police said Curley was struck by a 1998 Honda Accord that was traveling westbound on Linden Linthicum Lane around 7:30 a.m. near Little Bells Row.
