Light Snow, Mild Temperatures in Howard County this Week

Here's a look at the National Weather Service's forecast for the week.

We may see more snow this week – beginning Monday – according to the National Weather Service (NWS), but temperatures should pick up as the week goes on and we’ll be close to “spring-like” weather by the end of the week.  There is a chance of snow showers Monday mostly after 4 p.m. until very early Tuesday morning. Bundle Up Columbia. It's About to Get Cold

A cold front is on the way, followed by winter winds.

It’s about to get colder. And windier. But not rainier. A cold front was set to move over Howard County late this afternoon, according to the National Weather Service, and the blustery conditions are set to persist overnight, even as the precipitation stops. That means no snow. “The main thing is that it’s going to be windy,” said Greg Schoor at NWS. Tonight we’ll have a “stiff breeze,” he said, and temperatures in the 30s. Tomorrow winds should reach 30 – 40 mph, “just underneath what we call ‘wind advisory criteria,’” he said, which is 50 mph. “This will be more of a nuisance wind.” Otherwise, skies should be clear and sunny, and temperatures will reach the mid 40s.
