Man Accused of Killing Twin Brother Being Evaluated by Psychiatrist
Wael Ali might not be competent to stand trial, his defense attorney said.
A Georgia man accused of killing his twin brother in Columbia in 2007 might not be competent to stand trial and is currently being evaluated by a psychiatrist, according to a motion his defense attorney filed Tuesday. Wael Ali, 23, is accused in the death of Wasel Ali in 2007. He is facing first-degree murder charges. On Aug. 27, 2007, the body of Wasel, Wael's twin, was discovered on a secluded dirt path in the woods behind the 12000 block of Green Meadow Drive in Columbia. An autopsy showed he died as a result of a neck injury. Howard County police arrested Wael Ali in September of 2011 in Marietta, GA.
