Twele to Lead Economic Development Authority

Lawrence F. Twele will replace Laura Neuman, who was selected to be the County Executive of Anne Arundel County.

Howard County Executive Ken Ulman has selected Lawrence F. Twele as the acting President and CEO of the Howard County Economic Development Authority. Twele will replace Laura Neuman, who left the position last week after being selected as the Anne Arundel County Executive. Prior to being selected, Twele served as executive vice president in charge of business development at the EDA. Before that he spent six years as the director of the Carroll County Department of Economic Development. "I am honored by the County Executive's and Board of Director's faith in my ability," said Twele in a statement. Former Dell President to Head Columbia's MICROS

The former president of Dell Services will take over the Columbia-based tech company.

  MICROS Systems has hired the former president of Dell Services to be its Chief Executive Officer. Peter Altabef, a former CEO of Perot Systems and president at Dell, will replace long-time Micros CEO A.L. "Tom" Giannopoulos, according to a Micros statement. Giannopoulos served as MICROS CEO since 1993 and will continue his duties until he retires in June of 2014, according to the statement. "It has been a great pleasure and privilege to lead MICROS as Chief Executive Officer over the past twenty years," stated Giannopoulos.
