Clarksville Residents Protest Proposed Funeral Home

An attorney for the owner says the business has met county requirements.

  A proposed funeral home on a 3-acre wooded lot on Route 108 in Clarksville ignited a debate that has continued almost two years between a funeral home operator and some residents who believe the business doesn’t belong in their community. “This is human nature,” said Shun Yu. “People do not like to live so close to a funeral home.” Yu, who lives in the Preserve at Clarksville, a new development of large residential homes, said the the business presents a quality of life issue for her community and others nearby. Yu and neighbor Brian Snow discussed the issue earlier this month. They cited cultural, sewage, community and environmental issues with the proposal.
