Wine in the Woods takes place Saturday and Sunday at Symphony Woods Park in Columbia.

PHOTOS: Music Fans Go Wild at Warped Tour

The rock and alternative music festival drew thousands to Merriweather Post Pavilion on Tuesday.

The thousands of young people who attended Vans Warped Tour at Merriweather Post Pavilion on Tuesday shed clothes to handle the high temperatures, screamed at bands they loved and danced their way to a good time. There were mosh pits, crowd surfers and vendors of all kinds. A long list of bands cycled between the countless stages which ranged from the very large main stage, to an acoustic stage where bands would warm up for a smaller crowd. What was the best concert you ever attended? What do you remember the most? Tell us in comments. The Warped Tour is currently in its 18th year and has become America's longest running festival concert tour, according to the Merriweather Post Pavilion website. My favorite concert was seeing Dave Matthews Band at Fenway Park. They covered the iconic Fenway Park tune, Sweet Caroline by Neil Young, which fans sing during the eighth inning break of every BoSox game at Fenway. (As a kid who grew up in New England, I couldn't have been happier)   more ›

Rapper Biz Markie Official Guest of Ken Ulman

And You Say He's Just a Friend ... of Ken.

Who knew Ken Ulman was down? As in, you know, cool. A May 10 fundraising event for the county executive will feature rapper/dj Biz Markie. If you’re a parent, you may be familiar with his appearances on the music-heavy children’s show Yo Gabba Gabba. If you’re like me, the first thing you thought was: “Yooooou got what I need, but you say he’s just a friend, you say he’s just a friend …”  from his 1989 top-ten hit, “Just a Friend.” According to Rachael Rice of Rice Consulting, which is handling Ulman’s fundraising, “the host of the event knew [Markie] and thought it would be fun.” The invitation, which Patch noticed on HoCo Rising, also lists Kevin Liles, former president of record label Def Jam Recordings, as a special guest.
