Indictment for Man Accused of Barging in, Demanding Cigarette
Police say Andre Kovacs was angry that he hadn't received a call about a dirtbike.
A grand jury Wednesday indicted a Clarksville man who police say barged into a woman's house, screaming for a cigarette. Andrew Kovacs (referred to as Andreas in charging documents), 44, faces burglary, trespassing and assault charges. According to charging documents, the victim had just come out of the shower at her home on the 5800 block of Trotter Road when she heard footsteps coming up the stairs and a man yelling for her fiance, adding, "I need a cigarette." The victim yelled out that she was getting dressed and that her fiance wasn't home, according to her statement to police, and grabbed a towel to cover herself.
