Watch Horses Leap at the HCC Grand Prix

The Grand Prix starts at 9:30 a.m. this Saturday in Clarksville.


See horses jump, cars shine and prizes won at the 26th annual Howard Community College Columbia Classic Grand Prix is this Saturday.

The Grand Prix is an annual fundraiser for the college and a chance for residents to see world-class equestrian in Clarksville.

Equestrians will compete on a course with obstacles and jumps for a grand prize choice of either a 2014 Ford Mustang GT convertible, a Lincoln MKZ sedan or a Ford Explorer XLT SUV.

New this year is a classic car show. The car show is organized by the Mustang Club of Maryland and will feature a wide variety of classic cars.

The event also features children's activities like a hay rides, a moon bounce, pony rides and a pumpkin patch. The Grand Prix takes place from 9:30 a.m. until 4 p.m. on Saturday at Marama Farm, 5610 Chamblis Drive, Clarksville.

Ticket prices:

Lawn Seating: $10 adults, free for children 10 and under     
Grandstand Seating: $15 adults, $8 for children 10 and under 

Proceeds benefit the Howard Community College Educational Foundation, a 501(c)(3) charitable organization that provides scholarships for students.
