Planning on driving somewhere in the morning this weekend in Columbia?

The roads may be teeming with runners and walkers, especially around the Columbia Town Center Lakefront Plaza.

On Saturday, the Lungevity Foundation's Breathe Deep Columbia 5K Walk comes to town. It begins at the plaza, off Little Patuxent Parkway at Sterrett Place. Registration for the 5K walk to end lung cancer starts at 8:30 a.m. and the walk will be from 10 a.m. to noon.

At 7 a.m. Sunday, the Iron Girl Half Marathon will take off from the same area, at Sterrett Place, and will wrap up with a 10:30 a.m. ceremony.

The half marathon travels from Little Patuxent Parkway to Cedar Lane, Hickory Ridge Road and various streets to loop back to the finish line, where the race began at Sterrett Place. See the entire course map. There's also an Iron Girl 5K at the same time.
