Snow, Winds Expected in Howard County Thursday, Friday

About 1 to 3 inches of snow may fall.

The National Weather Service issued a winter weather advisory as a storm system approaches that's expected to bring snow and heavy winds Thursday night.

NWS predicts about 1 to 3 inches of snow to fall overnight, with snow beginning around 2 a.m. Friday. Wind gusts could reach as high as 36 mph early Friday morning, and arctic 20 mph gusts are expected throughout the day as the high temperature is expected to reach just 18 degrees.

If snow falls, expect it to stay for the weekend, with high temperatures expected to be 33 on Saturday and then mid-40s on Sunday.
