They’ve spent weeks collecting, sorting and pricing. Now, the GFWCLutz-Land O’ Lakes Woman’s Club is ready to let bargain hunters loose in the Old Lutz School.
The group’s annual flea market opens today at 9 a.m. and runs until 2 p.m. It has a repeat performance Saturday, March 5 at the same hours. A half-price sale is also planned March 12 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
A tradition for more than 25 years, the sale is one of the group’s larger fundraisers, said co-chairwoman Phyllis Hoedt.
With multiple rooms at the 18819 U.S. 41 school filled with items up for grabs at low pricing, the event is one worth coming out to, Hoedt added. “(It’s a great place) to get a good bargain,” she said.
The sale features clothing, antiques, furniture, household goods and more. To make shopping easier for bargain hunters, woman’s club members have sorted the items into rooms with different themes. Money raised from the event will help the group fund its community service work.
“The main purpose is to turn around and give it (donations) to the community,” said Annie Fernandez, a club member.
