Long Reach Field Hockey 5K fundraiser to Benefit Grassroots

Race Information

 The Long Reach High School field hockey team is hosting a 5K run/walk and a Mommy Trot. The Mommy Trot and 5K run/walk will start and end on the Long Reach track. Long Reach High School field hockey girls will be on the
course guiding participants. Race day sign up is accepted.

5K Run/Walk Early Bird Special: There will be a $10 registration fee for all registrations received PRIOR to August 31. Registrations submitted AFTER August 31 will have a $15 fee.
 

Mommy Trot: We invite parents
and children 5 years and under to participate in the Mommy Trot. This fun run/walk will start on the track. Participants will complete one lap. All Mommy Trot
participants will receive a prize.



There is no registration fee for those who are only
participating in the Mommy Trot. If doing the 5K and Mommy Trot, the registration fee is required.



After Race Celebration: After the race we invite you to come by Eggpsectations Restaurant in Ellicott City. Proceeds will benefit Grassroots. The fun begins
at 11:00 and will last until 7:00. Come by and relax with some good food and
good company!

Proceeds

Long Reach High School is working to raise funds for Grassroots. Grassroots is Howard County’s only homeless shelter and crisis intervention center. It is open 24-hours a
day, seven days per week and helps anyone in need, free of charge.

 Last year, Grassroots received over 30,000 calls to the hotline from people in crisis. Over 1,600 people met face-to-face with crisis counselors. When Howard County
schools ended in June of this year, there were almost 600 homeless children attending 61 schools in our community. Grassroots depends on community support to help those who need it most. Grassroots is a not-for-profit organization located on Freetown Road in Columbia. All donations are tax deductible.

The top 3 male finishers and top 3 female finishers
will receive a prize. Prizes include gift cards and gift baskets.



Mommy Trot

All Mommy Trot participants will receive a prize.

Everyone who registers will be entered in an
opportunity for a door prize.
