Hope for the Homeless 5k and Fun Run

Registration is now open for the Hope for the Homeless 5k trail race set for Saturday, May 5, at Rockburn Park in Elkridge.  The event is a benefit for the Grassroots Day Resource Center, which provides services, meals and limited medical care to people who are chronically homeless.

The 5k trail run features a shady one-loop course with beautiful scenery in the woods on low impact surfaces.  Pets are allowed on the course.  No strollers are permitted on the 5k trail.  Trophies will be presented for the Top 3 Overall, and for the Top 3 in each age group, male and female.  The 5k starts at 9 a.m.

A one-mile fun walk/run is also available, and pets and strollers are welcome.  There are no prizes for the fun walk/run.  It starts at 9:15 a.m.
