A History of Slavery in America 1619 to 1820

This Americn history class investigates the economic and cultural underpinnings for slavery in both colonial America and the early republic. You will learn about the differences in slavery in the north, Chesapeake region, and lower south. The class discusses how slavery became officially institutionalized by investigating sample laws in colonies and states: the U.S. Constitution; and the Missouri Compromise of 1820.
