2011 Howard County Recreation & Parks Spring Fishing Tournament

Howard County Recreation & Parks will host the 2011 Spring Fishing Tournament at Centennial Park on Saturday, May 7, from 6am-1pm for adults (ages 14+) and 9am-noon for youth (ages 2- 13).

Boat or shoreline anglers can fish for prizes in this catch-and-release event. Youth participants win prizes, trophies and receive a goodie bag. Adults win cash prizes and trophies. Prize categories include bass, bluegill, catfish, crappie and trout. Bring bait and tackle. There is a two-person minimum per boat with electric motor only.

Registration is available in advance or on site the day of the tournament. Tee shirts will be given to all pre-registered participants. Check in at the boat dock. To pre-register, call 410-313-7275 or visit www.howardcountymd.gov/RAP.

Entry fees are $15 for ages 2-4, $19 for ages 5-13, and $25 for ages 14+. Tournament information, flier, and rules are available at http://hcrpsports.com/fish_spring.htm.

Howard County Recreation & Parks will also host the inaugural Camp Day at Centennial Park on May 7, from 8:30am-12:30pm. This FREE event features entertainment, kids’ activities, games, face painting, prize drawings, and chances to win Recreation & Parks gift certificates.
