Potomac Specialty

Every April, Frederick, MD, is the site of a huge gathering of Labs and Lab lovers – of all colors (labs come in black, chocolate and yellow) and from all over. This year is the 39th annual Potomac Specialty, thanks to the hard work all year long of the Labrador Retriever Club of the Potomac.

Come see more than 1,000 Labrador Retrievers compete for fun and for real. 

Shop Lab vendors, including local whimsical canine artists Sara England and Sherry Kendall of Wagging Tail Portraits. Dog Mountain, home of the Stephen Huneck Gallery (www.DogMt.com), will be there again, too, as well as the fabulous Jane Partin Gallery.

Monday through Friday – What a Week

Of course, it is free – both outside events (vendors and conformation) and nearby inside events (obedience and rally) at the Hotel Frederick/Holiday Inn Express/Country Inn and Suites.

Wednesday night (Veteran Night), come to the live auction, silent auction, gala dinner (black tie optional – so is chocolate or yellow tie optional, in fitting with Lab colors). Last year I sat on the bleachers in my ‘day’ clothes and had one fantastic fun time not winning anything.
