Come to the Fair!

Yes, there are dog events at the Howard County Fair!

Come to rides on the Midway, animals, 4H, food, entertainment PLUS a pie-eating contest, cow milking contest (do they do that anymore?), archery, horse pull/mule pull/tractor pull, square dance, demos galore, bull riding, magic show, pig races.

68th Annual Howard County Fair (gosh, that’s older than I am!). Admission -  10 and older: 5$ (2$ for seniors), 8 am – 11 pm

What: 4H dog events at the Howard County fair (4H stands for head, heart, hands and health)

Where: Howard County Fairgrounds, West Friendship, MD, with easy access off Exit 80 from I-70

When: The Howard County fair is 3-10 August this year but the 4-H dog events are Saturday the 3rd, Tuesday the 6th and Friday the 9th

Why: Why not?

4H Dog Events

1. Opening Day, 3 August, Saturday 0900 – 4H Canine Show (conformation like the Westminster Dog Show in February on TV, and Obedience) – Show Pavilion - Military Day

2. Tuesday at 1900 – DogBowl – 4H Exhibit Hall - Senior Day – like College Bowl, questions about dogs, dog care, dog breeds, etc., posed to teams of 4H-ers

3. Next Friday at 0830 – 4H Rally and Agility – contest arena

Note: No pet dogs permitted but guide dogs are always welcome

And PS: there is nothing so exciting as the lights of the Midway at night!
