A variety of ministry opportunities for all ages will be available throughout the week.

The new church will offer a unique worship experience. A live praise band will lead worship followed by Senior Pastor Kip Smith’s message which will be video cast from the Ellicott City location. The message will actually be presented on a life-size screen.

“Once the video begins, the congregation will feel as though I’m really there,” Smith said.

“The sight and sound sensitive culture that we live in is reaching the church in ways never imagined. The technology itself will be impressive,” added Smith.

Philip Hale will lead the praise team. Hale is well known in the Columbia community. He is Oakland Mills High School’s orchestra director and has worked with several of Bethany Lane Baptist Church’s musical productions.

The new church will be led by Co-Pastors Chad Johnson and Reverend Ken Crummitt. Additional staff assigned to the Columbia location will include Hale, Assistant Worship Arts Minister, C J Matthews, Assistant Youth Minister, and Rachel Williams, Minister of Children.

Kip Smith is excited about the new ministry and the venue. “This is a wonderful opportunity to minister in such a thriving diverse community. We believe we’re going to connect with people very quickly.

“By having a satellite campus, we are able to reproduce what we’re doing in Ellicott City.  Our goal is to be one church in two locations, yet each will have its own God-given uniqueness.”

The church will offer a blend of traditional and contemporary in the context of the diverse multicultural Columbia community. Bethany Church will be casual – “come as you are.”
