Stock Ticker to Mark First for Howard County Public Schools

The stock ticker will be part of the Academy of Finance.

Students in Howard County public schools will soon be able to experience what it feels like to be on the trading floor.

The Howard County Public School System announced that its Academy of Finance will be receiving the school system's first stock ticker, which will complement the curriculum, later this month.

Located at the Applications and Research Lab in Ellicott City, the finance program is part of the school system's career academies initiative, in which students may declare before junior year that they want to focus on a specific career path. The Academy of Finance offers hands-on experience like an internship to develop a local business network.
