Photo of the Day: Partnership Leads to Rain Garden at Wilde Lake High School

Columbia Association and University of Maryland Sea Grant Extension Program help students become better stewards of their campus.

Columbia Association partnered with Wilde Lake High School's Environmental Club and the University of Maryland Sea Grant Extension Program to build a rain garden behind the school on November 19. A rain garden is usually built in a small, shallow bowl is designed to catch water runoff and filter it before it soaks into the ground and subsequently to tributaries that feed into the Chesapeake Bay.
