The Howard County Public School System made its decision Sunday night about whether to have classes Monday, when the forecast is calling for up to 8 inches of snow.
Schools will be closed on Monday, March 3, school officials tweeted at 6:59 p.m.
Essential personnel are still required to report for work at 10 a.m., according to Howard County Public Schools officials, who said the decision will be reviewed at 8:30 a.m. and staff should check the website before heading in for duty.
