Orientations for potential Disaster Volunteers

The Volunteer Center Serving Howard County hosts monthly disaster volunteer information and orientation sessions to inform community members on how to prepare to serve effectively in times of disaster in order to improve our community’s preparedness and resiliency.  Sessions will be held on Wednesday, January 11, Tuesday, February 7 and Thursday, March 8 from 6:30-7:30 p.m. at CA Headquarters.  Each session will: identify local response agencies; learn where to obtain necessary training; and inform participants on how they can prepare to volunteer effectively after a disaster. Registration is requested by emailing pam@volunteerhoward.org or calling 410-715-3179.

The Volunteer Center Serving Howard County, a community clearinghouse for volunteerism, is a service of the Columbia Association.  The center receives funding from the Baltimore UASI, the Columbia Association, the Horizon Foundation and Howard County Government through a grant from the Department of Citizen Services.

The Volunteer Center Serving Howard County stimulates and expands volunteerism in the community by connecting people to non-profit and governmental agencies in order to improve the quality of life for all people in Howard County.
