A Gathering of Motorcycle Experts

International leaders in intermediate and advanced motorcycle-rider training will be flying in from various parts of the U.S. to attend the nation’s first meeting on ways to improve instruction of beginner motorcyclists with the goal of reducing crashes, injuries and deaths. “A Gathering of Motorcycle Experts” will be held on Tuesday, March 1, 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. at Howard Community College’s Gateway Campus, 6751 Columbia Gateway Drive, Columbia, MD. Principles and practices for the next generation of motorcycle training will be developed at the gathering, in order to improve rider training. 

Among the many renowned panelists will be:

  • Dylan Code, international provider of advanced rider training in Australia, India, Japan, Dubai, England, South Africa, and Guam. Code teaches riders and coaches at California Superbike School locations worldwide.
  • Peter Hill, Senior Safety Engineer for the U.S. Marine Corps Headquarters, Senior Executive Fellow, Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University.
  • Chris Johnson, creator of the On Street Course and advanced riding trainer in England.
  • Andrew Krajewski, Chairperson of the National Association of State Motorcycle Safety Administrators and Director for Driver Safety at the Maryland Motor Vehicle Administration
  • Jim Ouellet, researcher in the seminal 1975 Hurt Study “Motorcycle Accident Cause Factors and Identification of Countermeasures.” Ouellet has published over 40 scientific papers on injury, protective gear, alcohol-impairment, and accident investigation and testified before the U.S. Senate
  • Jim Schmidt, Founder and Director of The Rider School at Howard Community College, a leading provider of motorcycle instruction in the Mid-Atlantic region and one of the few schools nationwide that offers a full-range of classes for beginner, intermediate and advanced rider training.
