Centennial Student Asks Out Prom Date With a Serenade

Bobby Chin asked out his prom date with a song that has gone viral.

Do you remember how your prom date asked you out for the big night?

Chances are Sofia, a Centennial High School student, won’t be forgetting how 18-year-old Bobby Chin asked her to Centennial’s senior prom, scheduled for this weekend (April 20).

With a flower in his hair and a friend casually strumming a guitar nearby in the high school hallway, Chin sang about how he met Sofia six months ago. He sang about her smile and how it made him laugh.

“Make my dreams come true.”

Chin’s song – and the video of it -- was so endearing it was covered by the New York Daily News – and as of late March, the video had more than 7,000 “likes” on Facebook, the News reported.

And, even better, The Daily News reported that Sofia said yes.

Centennial students will attend prom Saturday at Martin’s West in Baltimore from 8 p.m. to midnight, with an after prom party at Lifetime Fitness in Columbia.

What was the sweetest way you were ever asked to prom?
