A plan to revamp Columbia’s park that included more pathways and a fountain could take a little longer to come to fruition than originally thought.

The Columbia Association, the developer of Symphony Woods, may delay completing development plans until Howard Hughes Corp. has a more defined idea of how it will redevelop the adjacent , according to the Howard County Times.

"The advantages (of the delay) would be to optimize park and Merriweather integration, to make the best decision about site resources," CA Landscape Services Manager Jan Clark said, according to the Times. "The design team sees a lot of value in pausing at this time."

The first phase of the was approved by the Howard County Planning Board last month.

In the , the CA wrote future developments may include a pavilion, an amphitheater, a cafe, a play activity area, a woodland garden area and a new parking area inside the park.
