Report: Funds to County Domestic Violence Center Cut Off

The agency has had several problems, including turnover at the executive director position.

Howard County Executive Ken Ulman has cut off funding to the the Domestic Violence Center of Howard County, citing several problems at the agency, according to the Howard County Times.

The center has had three different executive directors within the past year, and the federal government has banned the current director from using federal funding.

Federal funding is integral to the center – such money is awarded to it via the county government.

“This is the tipping point, if you will,” Ulman told the newspaper. “I have no choice. We have to step in here.”
