Poll: What Do You Think of Herman Cain's Decision?

The political world waited for GOP presidential candidate Herman Cain's announcement Saturday. What does Columbia think of his decision to suspend his campaign?

GOP presidential candidate Herman Cain announced Saturday he was suspending his campaign.

Cain, speaking to supporters in Atlanta, said continued allegations from women that he sexually harassed them as well as an Atlanta-area woman’s claim she had had a long-term affair with Cain, “had a tremendous painful price” on his family.

Cain, formerly a chief executive with Godfather’s Pizza, had recently become a front-runner in the race for the Republican nomination. He denied any impropriety.

“My father was a chauffeur. My mother was a maid, and we showed that you didn’t have to have a degree from Harvard in order to run for president,” Cain told supporters.

But he said he had come to the conclusion that “it would be best to suspend this campaign.”
