Photo: Columbia Connecting Path to Start Construction Soon

The path will connect the hospital with Blandair Park.

 

Designs for a path that will connect in east Columbia with in west Columbia were unveiled this week, according to an article in Explore Howard.

Construction on the first segment is expected to begin early next year, according to the article. The Howard Hughes Corp. is responsible for building the path, which is expected to be built in three phases.

When completed, the pathway will stretch all the way from Little Patuxent Parkway in front of the hospital, across Route 29, through , around and connect with Blandair Park, according to a map of the path.

The pathway will be another piece of the downtown development plan that has already included big announcements such as , plans to build a $100 million apartment complex near the mall and a redevelopment of the that will bring in more stores and restaurants.
