League of Women Voters to Hold Candidate Forums

Events are designed to help Howard County residents become more informed about candidates, issues.

The League of Women Voters of Howard County has scheduled two upcoming candidate forums in an effort to help Howard County citizens become better informed about candidates and issues, according to a press release issued by the organization.

The group will host a forum for Candidates running for Board of Education from 6 to 8:30 p.m. March 5,  at the Board room of the Howard County Public School System headquarters, 10910 Route 108 in Ellicott City. 

Forums for Congressional (Districts 2, 3 and 7) and Circuit Court candidates will be held from 7 to 10:30 p.m. March 8, in the Banneker Room of the George Howard Building, Courthouse Drive in Ellicott City.

Citizens are encouraged to attend both forums and submit questions for the candidates.

The League of Women Voters of Howard County, a membership organization for men and women, is affiliated with the League of Women Voters of Maryland, the National Capital Area, and the United States.

The League is strictly nonpartisan; it neither supports nor opposes candidates for office at any level of government, according to the statement.

At the same time, the League works to influence policy through advocacy and is directed by a consensus of its members.
