Hill and Lam Lead Fundraising in District 12; Coale, Loveless and Corkran Close in 9B

Fundraising figures for state and local races were released Wednesday, find out where candidates' campaigns are financially.

Things are shaping up nicely, fundraising-wise, for two Columbia candidates in delegate District 12 while in Ellicott City's District 9B there are three candidates with similar fundraising amounts.

District 12, which will elect three candidates to the House of Delegates in 2014, encompasses parts of Baltimore County as well as Downtown Columbia. The three delegate seats in the district are wide open due to incumbent delegates Steve DeBoy and Jimmy Malone retiring at the end of the 2014 session.

Here's the fundraising figures for District 12 (the amount is total campaign cash on hand):

  • Rebecca Dongarra (D-Catonsville) - $9,342
  • Eric Ebersole (D-Baltimore) - $16,981
  • Terri Hill (D-Columbia) - $49,491
  • Clarence Lam (D-Columbia) - $60,594
  • Nick Stewart (D-Baltimore) - $27,799
  • Renee McGuirk-Spence (D-Baltimore) - $9,011
  • Adam Sachs (D-Baltimore) - $1,291
  • Gordon Bull (R-Baltimore) - Does not intend to raise over $1,000
  • Joseph Hooe (R-Landsdowne) - $100
  • Brain S. Bailey (D-Halethorpe) - $977
Two other candidates' 2014 annual campaign finance reports were not posted on the Maryland Board of Election site by Monday morning. Those candidates are Jay Fred Cohen (D-Columbia) and Michael Gisriel (D-Baltimore).

In delegate District 9B, a new district, four candidates filed campaign finance reports (figure is total cash on hand):

  • Tom Coale (D-Ellicott City) - $18,240
  • Rich Corkran (D-Ellicott City) - $23,838
  • Bob Flanagan (R-Ellicott City) - $6,273
  • Carol Loveless (R-Ellicott City) - $17,126
