Elkridge Motors Case Withdrawn

The Department of Planning and Zoning dismissed a citation against Elkridge business owner Brian Wilson.

Elkridge Motors resolved its differences with Howard County’s Department of Planning and Zoning before a hearing scheduled for Monday night.

The Howard County hearing examiner was to determine with whether Brian Wilson, owner of , should be allowed to use part of his property as a parking lot.

The Department of Planning and Zoning argued that he should not, since the parcel in question was not zoned for commercial use.

A Feb. 6 lasted an hour and a half but ended with a postponement after Wilson said he had not been provided all the information from the county about his case.

The was slated for March 5, and that evening, officials left a note at the entrance to the stating that the case had been withdrawn.

The Howard County Times reported that the Department of Planning and Zoning dismissed a civil citation that sparked the Elkridge Motors zoning case in the first place.

Elkridge Motors was cited by the Department of Planning and Zoning last March for "parking or storage of unregistered, inoperable, wrecked, dismantled or destroyed motor vehicles," according to a technical staff report.

Since Wilson corrected the issue and removed said vehicles from his Montgomery Road property, the Howard County Times reported that the county dropped the citation and Wilson withdrew the case.

Five stars for Mr. Wilson having a successful business in this economy. So many cars proves that he is an excellent mechanic! Don't like what you see, then move. I guess the whining didn't cut it in the real world, so go get some cheese and crackers and enjoy your whine here on the internet.

Junk cars that sit inoperable for months with no apparent future doesn't indicate an excellent mechanic. That's something you're more apt to see in inner city Baltimore.

Doesn't mean it's not still relevant.
