(UPDATED 2/7, 12 p.m.) 64-Year-Old Man Who Had Been Found Walking On Highway Will Return Home

The man, who was found Friday afternoon, is back at a hospital center in Catonsville.

The 64-year-old man who police found walking onto Interstate 70 on Friday afternoon will be returning to where he'd been living.

Gregory Talesnik was staying at the Spring Grove Hospital Center in Catonsville before he went missing, according to Howard County Police Department spokeswoman Sherry Llewellyn.

Police will bring him back there, she said.

Talesnik is in good condition following a weekend in which authorities first tried to figure out who he was, then sought to learn where his family or caregivers were.

Police found Talesnik at about 2:25 p.m. on Friday after someone noticed him walking on the ramp from Route 29 onto Interstate 70.

He had initially told police his name was Victor Univer. Talesnik appears to be cognitively impaired, police said.

But his last name was written inside of the jacket he was wearing, and computer checks confirmed his identity, police said.

Talesnik had not been able to say where he lives or anything about his family or any other possible caretakers, and at the time there had not been a missing person report for him, according to police.
