Unwelcome Suspect Arrested Near Columbia Home: Howard County Crime Roundup

The following information was supplied by the Howard County Police Department. Arrests do not indicate convictions.

Columbia: Break-In Attempt

Shortly before 11 a.m. on March 12, a known suspect attempted to enter a residence on the 11300 block of Little Patuxent Parkway without permission. Police arrested the suspect–a Baltimore resident–and charged the suspect with burglary, destruction of property, disorderly conduct and failure to obey a lawful order.

Columbia: Break-In

Shortly after 3 p.m. on March 12, two suspects entered the garage of a residence on the 5000 block of Durham Court and removed a mini bike. Arriving officers arrested one of the suspects, who was identified as a juvenile. Police said they are continuing to look into the incident.

Ellicott City: Commercial Break-In

Shortly before 2:30 a.m. on March 13, an unknown number of suspects entered West Citgo, on the 8300 block of Baltimore National Pike, stealing cigarettes and cigars.

Ellicott City: Commercial Break-In

Between March 7 and March 14, an unknown number of suspects entered the side door of an abandoned barn, on the 4100 block of College Avenue, and stole floorboards.

Elkridge: Commercial Break-In

Between 6 p.m. on March 13 and 11 a.m. on March 14, an unknown number of suspects pried open the pad lock of a shed, on the 5400 block of Landing Road. Police said nothing was reported stolen.

North Laurel: Commercial Break-In

Between 1 a.m. and 7:30 a.m. on March 13, an unknown number of suspects pried open the rear window at Sam and Elsie's, on the 9900 block of Washington Boulevard, and stole cash.

Elkridge: Break-In

Between 1 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. on March 14, an unknown number of suspects cut out a window screen and entered a residence on the 5300 block of Landing Road. Police said nothing was reported stolen.

Elkridge: Break-In

Between 1 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. on March 14, an unknown number of suspects removed glass from the back door of a residence on the 5300 block of Landing Road and, once inside, stole a knife.

Jessup: Break-In Attempt

Shortly before 5:30 p.m. on March 12, a witness observed five middle-school-aged juveniles attempt to enter the detached garage of a residence on the 8600 block of Pine Tree Road.

North Laurel: Vehicle Theft

Shortly after 8 p.m. on March 11, a black 2006 Hyundai Sonata with MD tags 8AD7750 was reported stolen from the 9600 block of Barrel House Road.
