Two Baltimore Men Charged in String of Columbia Burglaries

Howard County Police charged two men with the burglaries of 12 east Columbia businesses.

Howard County Police have charged two Baltimore men in a series of 12 burglaries at east Columbia businesses on May 30, according to a statement from the department.

Police said Davon Alexander Jones, 18, and Sylvester Joseph Johnson, 34, shattered glass on along Dobbin Road, Dobbin Center Way, Snowden River Parkway and Oakland Mills Road, entering the businesses and stealing cash from several locations.

Both Jones and Johnson face at least 12 counts of burglary. Johnson is being held on a $250,000 bond while the $25,000 bond for Jones was met and he was released, according to the department.

Detectives from Howard and Baltimore county police departments investigated other cases that "appeared to be linked" to the incidents in east Columbia, which led to Baltimore County police making both arrests.
